Well, we've been home for almost a week and now been married for slightly over 2 months!  Little to report though, just getting back to the everyday. Still trying to move in, and just trying to get in a good habit and routine for keeping up with the laundry and cleaning.  I never really have been very good at cleaning or organizing so I'm really trying to turn that around and get into a good habit of it, and break my bad, lazy habits that drive Teiler nuts.  I guess that's newlywed...or just married life. Haha. We are doing good though. Also been playing around with cooking. We ate out so much and so much junk and fast food on our trip that eating healthy has been a welcome delight.  Having not had a kitchen that I really felt comfortable in since I lived with my parents, I'm really enjoying cooking dinners.  Getting a lot of great recipes and experimenting.  The George Foreman is a savior in our little makeshift kitchen. A double burner, toaster oven, microwave, and George Foreman, you can almost cook anything.  And I haven't really made anything horrible, gotten us sick, or burned anything, so I feel like I'm doing pretty good.  There should be some sort of class for new wives.

So we finally made it home.  It's nice to be home, to sleep in our own bed and to get back to the routine of life, though we both will miss New Orleans always.  Although coming back to reality has it's own way of biting back, like the laundry that has taken me three days to get back on track, restoring food to the house, and bills that seemed to be waiting for us with a sadistic smirk.

In our last week we got to go tour Old New Orleans Rum distillery.  It was amazing! All and all we got to do most of the things we wanted to. 

Germans, beer, bratwurst... what more could you ask for? We had an amazing time at Deutsche Hause. Hope it stays around. We will be leaving here on Wednesday.  I'm gonna miss everyone so much that the sadness is always looming that we will be leaving here.  It's wierd how I was only here 2 months in relief work, yet this feels like a second home so easily.  Who knows, maybe one day it will be...

So after a long and stressful trip from New Mexico to New Orleans we finally made it.  The second we saw our friends it made the whole ordeal worth it.  You know you have good friends when you don't see them for 3 years but when you finally do it's like no time has gone by.  This is my first time in New Orleans since relief work 3 years ago.  Although a lot has changed, a lot has stayed the same.  It makes a great impact to see the destruction still so apparent.  A lot of our friends have learned American Sign Language to help others learn about Jehovah.  And I got to go to my first ASL meeting.  It was quite amazing and fun! For Teiler and me this is a great trip to share.  We went by the coffee shop where we first became better friends, went by the relief center where we first met and have been sharing stories and memories from when we didn't really know eachother that well.  We are having a great time and taking lots of video and pictures.... Though I don't have much to show right now... But here are a few from the roadtrip...

So tommorrow we get to finally leave Gallup... A town you can drive in about ten minutes and see all of the sites.  There is a self proclaimed world famous hotel, and many abandoned or rundown motels.  Needless to say that I'm not going to really miss it.  But I can't wait to go to New Orleans.  Here are a few more pictures of our trip so far!!!

Roadtrips have always equaled fun adventure in my book.  So Teiler and me decided that we would tag along with his parents to New York, a month long trip.  Needless to say, we didn't make it to New York.  We got a bit stranded in Gallup, New Mexico.  We are making the best of it though, and actually it's the balloon fiesta in Albuquerque, so we will have fun! Did you know they have the longest tram in the world there.  You find out all sorts of interesting things when you are stranded.  One day I'll have to share the story of Highway Harry.  Haha.  More pics to follow.  Only unloaded one camera so far.
