So this will officially be my last post on this blog.  We are definitely moving things over to Sweet T Studios.  We couldn't be more excited about it! Things are picking up in our little business.  And hopefully the site will be done soon.  I think I might miss our Kellandis roots just a little bit, but it has been worth it.  A truly great time, that taught us a lot.  Sweet T is a great expansion though. So go and check it out and follow the adventure there.  A link below is the link to the new blog.  A much more exciting blog.  A collaboration of 4 creative women's minds. Enjoy!

The words of Jackson Browne inspired me today.  It has been so long since I have written in this blog, hoping so badly that our new blog would be up and running, but alas, we keep waiting.

Kelli and I have been so busy, not only setting up things for Sweet T Studios but also with weddings and loveliness.  We shot a wedding video for our friend Lydia. We have had several client meetings and bookings for the summer, and we couldn't be more thrilled.  We love our clients!

We rest with tired bones tonight from a busy weekend.  Kelli showed me the ropes of photography, and I must say that I'm in love.  Friday we shot a friend's anniversary session, and today an engagement session that was a blast.

There are so many exciting things to come as Sweet T Studios really sets off.  We really have fallen in love with out company and what we do.  Hopefully in May there will be lots of action as to the site and blog, and displaying more of our recent work that we have been saving for it.

Below are some of the pictures we took the past two days that we love. P.S. pic quality will be better later, just stole these off Kelli's site for a quick share. They are way better quality on hers. Sorry.

Well it's almost completely official and we've been dying to share our new adventure with everyone.  So we are proud to introduce our new company Sweet T Studios.  The idea of combining companies and adding to our services really just makes so much sense for us.  We seemed to have grown out of our training wheels and we're excited to get out there as professionals.

Here are some pictures as a preview that Kelli and I took together.  The ones of Kelli, I actually took them.  And I'm excited to be getting more involved with photography.  I have always loved photograph and admired Kelli's work and passion for it, and it seems it might have been a little contagious.  Kelli and I are very creative and inspired by so many things.  Even our creative and amazing friends.  That's why Sweet T now consists of not just two creative women, but 4.  We can't wait to introduce them soon.  We will be keeping up our own blogs until our new one is set up, but we'll definitely provide a link to our new stuff.

Click on the Sweet T logo below and it will link you to the new site address, although there isn't much to see quite yet. Stay tuned!

We are all affected greatly by the influences from our youth.  I can't throw glass jars or bottles away, because my Aunty gave them a recyclable life.  My Dad used to tell me that after the garage door went down the cars would talk to eachother.  Even growing up and knowing that isn't true, there is a sadness inside for selling my car yesterday.  It didn't really live, or talk back to me, but it knew all my secrets, heard all my vents, shared so many good times and roadtrips, and was mine. My little blue rocket.  It was the car that got me to New Orleans, my first real roadtrip, and the trip that changed my life forever.

So little Hyundai, you may have been made fun of a lot for being the knockoff car, go and drive and help someone else make as many good memories as we had.

What a better way to celebrate family fun than with a styled shoot.  It's my husband's parent's anniversary and his brother and wife were visiting from Italy where they moved last year.  So we surprised and styled a perfectly Becky (my mother in law) shoot.  Vintage picnic!  The top picture is just a small taste of the fun styling we had.  Randy (the father in law) love antique radios.  So he provided the beautiful radio and speaker for the occasion.  We raided Becky's amazing house full of vintage treasures.

The shoot went great.  I find that no matter who you are taking pictures of or styling for you are always nervous.  But it always turns out good in the end.  I'll put up some more pics later.

Happy to announce that our process of transferring companies is kicking along.  Lot more involved than I though, but I have to say, the idea of this is so exciting to me, and I'm really proud of how far Kelli and I have come.  We started out as two friends who made videos and took pictures because we wanted to, because we loved it.  And now we have learned how to turn that into something we can do for others, that they love too.  It is such a satisfying job.  We are growing as business savvy creative women.  For me, that is something that I never thought I would be.  So happy happy!

It's not safe to say that this may be one of my last blogs on the Kellandis site.  Kelli and I have decided to combine her photography and our videography into one easy to use site and company.  We are so excited and overjoyed with ideas.  She's coming down this weekend so we can make it official and jump start all the work that will go into this new site and adventure.  Yay! More to come on that and I will provide a link to the new site and blog when we get it all worked out this weekend.

It's been a great time learning more and more about videography and letting my creativity run wild.  Funny thing is now I see everything through a lens. No song goes unheard without thinking about what moment it would help capture in a video. Even the most menial tasks set to music from my mind becomes and interesting video.  Doing the dishes, cooking, zipping up my boot, driving on the freeway.  There is so much in our simple lives to be inspired by.  My husband Teiler and best friend Kelli are the two that inspire me most of all too. They are are always the ones to catch me when I fall, literally with Teiler lately, hahah. The ones who encourage me and push me to be my best.  I don't know what I would do without them.  They are truly a blessing to my life. So I'm really excited to see what comes next.

So Teiler and I decided to go and make a video.  it made me feel so much better to be in the sun and shooting and then have something really inspiring to work on.  I was so excited to wear my new peacock clip that I made.  Been doing some more hair clips and things and I will try to take some pics and post them on the site soon. I also have a few more video project ideas up my sleeve and we have a few more things to video and edit for our site coming up.

Tei took me to the hills in Calabasas.  We found a spot with a tree swing which I'm dying to go back to, but when we got there the sun was already starting to go down, so we chose the spot that had these beautiful branches.  One made an arch. Gorgeous.  We are getting used to working together on video stuff which is nice, but so funny the differences I'm learning now between the way men and women's brains work.  He is excellent at music and can catch the slightest change in video that is off beat.  Very helpful.  But as a woman, we notice frames.  The eye catching things.

Well I hope you enjoy our collaboration.  More to come of course.  Dying to get together with Kelli for some artistic fun.  Even though I just saw her and had fun, it feels like it has been so long.  Sad.

About to make some flyers for school graduation videos, so I had a friend sketch out some cool stuff for our flyer and he did our logo. This is just a sample of one of the amazing things he drew us.  We have more than enough to work with now for our flyer. Wahoo!

So, I have to admit that this week has not been very nice to us. First I slipped off the top rung of the loft ladder and fell directly on my toe, and almost broke it, then I had felt sick with a cold all week, the motorhome bathroom that I usually use has been acting out and I have had to use the outhouse which is totally infested with spiders and their meal carcases.  I'm very scared of spiders.  And then the rain came.  It's slightly true that Californian's have a hard time keeping their sunny dispositions when there is no sun and I kind of feel that way too.  And that's definitely the case when yesterday we found water all on the carpet and wall, where our little shack has been leaking.  Therefore the next discovery was... you guessed it... mold! Now, I did mold remediation in New Orleans for Katrina, and had a blast.  So I'm like every other "moldy" and love to remediate stuff, mostly because the first phase is demolition of said moldy extremities.  But it's just a little bit different when you find it in your own home.  Oh, but that did solve the mystery of why I felt so sick.  Allergy to the mold. Fun! Oh, and somewhere in there, an ant infestation because of the rain.  They think they own the place. Grrr.

But you know, I'm not trying to complain.  Even when going into the spider haven bathroom, I'm happy.  Truly, deeply happy.  I think I may finally be getting the positive view on life that I so admire in my husband, though mine may come off more naive.

Broken toe = fun bruises to show off and a reason Tei should do the dishes. Hurts the toe to stand and clean. Haha. (You should see the one on my under arm. It's gnarly.)

Spider infested outhouse to pee in = working on my fears and getting me ready for an assignment in the boonies, or hopefully if it would work out, Haiti relief work.

Water logged floor and walls = a little construction so it doesn't happen next year, a good cleaning of the walls, and finding all the cool stuff you always loose under the bed. (like my keys- don't roll your eyes Dad... I heard enough of it from Teiler about it thank you.)

Mold = A chance to keep my remediation skills up to date so I don't get rusty in relief work skills.

Ants = Something to take all the frustration out on.

So when life gives you lemons make lemonade.  When like gives you mold, call your moldy relief worker friends and be happy it isn't much worse. Haha. That's my lesson for the day.

My parents always tried to instill in me the importance of good friends.  I've lost friends over the years, like most people, as you grow and can't bring some friends with you through your growth, but I've gained more friends than I have lost.  Relief work taught me that your true friends would be the ones that after you were apart and saw each other again, the gap in time wouldn't be noticeable.  Everything you sacrificed was everything you gained.  It's true still.  I knew that getting married and moving an hour away would put a toll on some of my old friendships.  But Kelli and Ashley just came up here.  I can truly call them my best friends.  I haven't known Ashley long but she is amazing and I can't wait to see what she progresses in life. We had an amazing time.  I feel like today, especially with the rain, I was a little sad.  My friends were gone and I wish they were here all the time.  So until the next time I see them, I can watch this silly video we made and smile.  Hope you guys like it.
